The Rolex Day-Date 40 reference 228235 combines an 18ct Everose gold case and President bracelet with a chocolate dial featuring baguette-cut diamond hour markers. This 2025 example is brand new and unworn and is supplied as a full set.

The 40mm case is crafted from Rolex’s 18ct Everose gold, Rolex’s proprietary rose-gold alloy designed to retain its colour over time. The case is paired with a fluted Everose gold bezel, completing the characteristic Day-Date profile.

The chocolate dial provides a warm contrast against the Everose gold case. Baguette-cut diamond hour markers are applied across the dial, while the Day-Date’s signature displays show the full day of the week at 12 o’clock and the date at 3 o’clock beneath the Cyclops lens.

Powering the watch is Rolex calibre 3255, an automatic mechanical movement developed for the Day-Date 40. The movement provides hours, minutes, seconds, day and date functions and offers an approximately 70-hour power reserve.

The watch is completed by an 18ct Everose gold President bracelet featuring semi-circular three-piece links and a concealed Crownclasp. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the Oyster case provides water resistance to 100 metres.
